Update from Pastor Jeremy
With all the attention surrounding the Coronavirus, and now with the recent findings of the virus in our county, in Copperopolis particularly, we at FBCAC want to share some thoughts...
We are encouraging our FBCAC family, and all the other churches in the surrounding area, to approach this in a few different ways:
1. Be PRACTICAL. As with anything of this magnitude, just about everyone is chiming in with opinions and perspectives. Please be informed and seek the wisdom of a wide variety of medical professionals regarding proper precautions to avoid exposure. From what we've gathered, these proper precautions include the basics - wash your hands regularly, use antibacterial soaps and hand sanitizers; don't touch your face with your hands; refrain from physical interactions with people as much as possible. We at FBCAC will be taking the proper precautions to make sure our church facilities are clean and sanitized as much as possible. No one in our church has reported to have the virus, nor no one anyone of us have come in contact with. Therefore, our normal weekly schedule will resume as planned, including Bible study and worship service on Sundays starting at 10am.
2. Be PRAYERFUL. Let's please not forget that we serve a God that is way bigger than the corona virus! Let our faith overcome any fears and rest in knowing that God protects, God heals, and God provides! Let us lean on the words of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:6-7, "...do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Let's join together and cover our church, our town and schools and businesses, our county, our state, our great nation, and those around the world in prayer, asking for God's presence and protection and that the elimination of this virus will come soon.
3. Be a PROCLAIMER! There's no better opportunity than right now to proclaim the love and mercy and sovereignty of Jesus Christ. Last time I checked, Jesus in still on his throne, and he saw this virus coming long before it left the shores of China. Therefore, we as his followers and disciples should be on the look out for the chance to proclaim Jesus as the only sure and eternal source of hope in these nervous and fearful times. Allow me to give you a sobering reminder - Scripture speaks of tough times ahead that will get worse and worse as we near the second-coming of Christ. And as the earth continues to groan as with birthing pains, we will continue to trust in the Lord, though our circumstances may try to sway us otherwise! Let's be a city on a hill that shines the light of Jesus throughout a dark world that needs it so desperately!
And if you have any questions or concerns, or need the assistance of the church in anyway, please feel free to contact us at (209) 736-2464.
God bless you and we love you!
